Maria Gomez, Research Associate.
Maria Gomez is originally from Colombia. She has relevant research experience in the fields of immigration and health. She graduated from the Master of Cultures and Development Studies at Leuven University in Belgium in 2010.
Before moving to Belgium, Maria lived in New York City for several years where she attended college earning her B.A in Anthropology from Hunter College, CUNY. During the period 2004-07 Maria worked with Dr. Viladrich in developing the Immigration and Health Initiative at Hunter College, CUNY.
Maria will be in in charge of developing the Center’s research and network capacity.
Mary Diaz, Research Associate.
Mary Diaz is currently an adjunct faculty member at the Sociology Department at QC, CUNY, where she teaches courses on theory and research methods.
She will be in charge of the Center’s data analysis and communication activities, including community outreach and coordination of special events. Mary will also oversee all volunteer participation activities, including recruitment, training, supervision, and training of volunteers.
Ms. Diaz majored in Anthropology (with a minor in Psychology) as an undergraduate from QC and holds a Master Degree in Sociology from QC, with a focus on quantitative analysis. She has vast experience on health issues pertaining vulnerable minority populations in the US.
Mary will be the Center's Public Relationships Coordinator.
